Greetings:
Winter is upon us, with a few pocket days of golf. Some days have been better than others. This time is always good for planning for the upcoming season and busy times. We continue to prepare our golf shops for the 2024 lines, which are coming soon! In addition, we are still working on the merchandising set up at Kokopelli, which should be complete by May 1.
NEW FLEET CARTS ARE COMING:
We will be getting new fleet carts for Alto and Kokopelli in late Spring. Once these are delivered we will have a complete fleet of Yamaha lithium battery golf carts. Our fleet is fully warrantied, and our staff is not equipped or certified to work on or make any changes to carts with lithium batteries. We will still continue to help service private carts that have flooded lead acid batteries.
TEE TIME SOFTWARE CHANGE:
Based on a decision made by the administration of the club, WE WILL BE CHANGING OUR TEE TIME SOFTWARE. Yes, FORETEES will not be used any longer starting this spring (specific date to be determined). The target date to begin this transition is 4/1/24.
We will be transitioning to JONAS for the club’s tee sheet module. Most of you may be asking “WHY?” The reason is simple: we already using JONAS for our database billing and email campaigning for the club. This transition will enable us to have ONE database of all of our members. We currently have two databases (Jonas and Foretees). The two do not integrate or talk to each other, so much time is spent by
administration manually co-mingling the two, which makes no sense and costs precious time keeping up with it in an accurate manner. Changing tee time software can be tricky and requires new learning (by staff and membership). We do realize this, and that change can sometimes be challenging; but in the end it makes the most sense for a club of our stature to be able to operate with better organization and efficiency. We, as a staff, will start training on this now. More specific correspondence will go out soon to the membership (including webinars, directions, and training opportunities) so we can make this transition as smooth as possible.
HOLE IN ONE REPORT: We have just one hole-in-one to report for January. On his 75th birthday, Dale English aced the 17th hole at Alto. He hit a wedge from the white tees for the one! What a shot and birthday; great shot, Dale!
Are you in the Hole-in-One Club? If you are interested, please see the form on the club website to download and fill out and submit, or inquire at any of the Golf Shops. The program costs $5 per person and reloads each time a Hole-in-One participant makes a hole-in-one. Each golf shop has a simple form to fill out should you have one.
We’re glad you’re here!
Sincerely,
John Rogers, PGA
