It is nice to be getting back to normal after the tragic fires in June. Although things aren’t 100%, it is a plus to be playing our normal tee times and tournaments (for the most part). All courses are in fantastic shape and looking beautiful! We have a very busy August with the AMGA Snowcapper on 8/7-8/9, as well as the ALGA Kachina Doll on 8/21-8/23. Please refer to the golf calendar for further events and details.
GOLF SHOP LIQUIDATION SALE: We will be selling all our surplus summer merchandise from all three golf shops in the Old Gym, starting now! Everything is 45% off. This will happen Wednesdays-Sundays from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM until all merchandise is gone. All sales are final. Come find your bargain today!
SCORE POSTING: As your Director of Golf, I am reminding you to POST ALL OF YOUR APPLICABLE SCORES! In addition, please do your best to post these the day of play, which is important. Here’s why; we have a Handicap Committee that works diligently to “protect the field” at our club in promoting fair handicapping for tournament play. This entails collecting reports of score postings, and it is vital to enable them to do this accurately when the postings are there. We appreciate your understanding of this.
ALTO RANGE USE: Please abide by the signage at ALTO on the range. This range is limited to a 215 yard shot; PERIOD! Many of you are hitting drivers when you shouldn’t be. This is a huge safety issue! We are finding balls on the 11th green and 13th fairway. These balls can hurt someone; so please, LIMIT YOUR SHOTS TO NO LONGER THAN 215 YARDS!!! The lower grass area is also for instruction only. This will be roped off and noted by signage.
HOLE IN ONE REPORT: Charni Hinkle aced the 2nd hole at Kokopelli from 87 yards with a 9-iron. She was witnessed by the Hilchers, Hilemans, and of course, Rolla! Denise Bowers made a “1” on the 10th hole at Outlaw with a gap wedge. She was witnessed by Terry Shaffer and Henry. Jack Spence aced the 7th hole at Alto with a 9-iron. He was witnessed by Jaime Torres, Mark Roberts, Andy McBee, and Coll Bramblett. This was Jack’s 8th career hole-in-one! Great shots to all of you!
Are you in the Hole-in-One Club? If you are interested, please see the form on the club website to download, fill out, and submit. The program costs $5 per person and reloads each time a Hole-in-One participant makes a hole-in-one. Each golf shop has a simple form to fill out should you have one.
We’re glad you’re here!
