Let's talk about Targets and Tempo. They have a lot in common. What is your "Target?" The golf ball, or what you are hitting to? The Target is always what you are hitting to. So you want to swing faster to your target, not the ball. All of us want to "HIT" the ball. It's not called a golf "HIT," it's a golf "SWING." So to work on Tempo, swing through the ball to the target, not "AT" the ball. The slowest part of the swing is your transition from the back swing to the down swing, then you speed up through the ball. As much as you can, "FORGET THE GOLF BALL." Swing to the target. Easier said than done, I realize. The game of golf is Target-oriented, not Ball-oriented. Concentrate on where your ball is going, not where it's sitting. Slow down and have fun!
