Class Descriptions

AQUA FIT-FUN - Provides a good cardio workout that is easy on the joints. Exercises that will increase strength and range of motion, coordination, and balance.

MAT PILATES - Increase your strength and flexibility as you flow through a series of movements that restore balance to core muscles. Pilates is functional fitness; a type of exercise that helps you do your daily activities. There are over 500 exercises that can be practiced anywhere. Mat Pilates can be modified for any age, body, or fitness level. Go at your own pace.

BODY FUSION - The perfect class for anyone wanting to focus on overall total body conditioning. Weight-loss friendly with a twist of cardio fitness. Body Fusion provides cardio, strength, balance, flexibility, and core in one class. i is a full body workout using weights, bands, balls, and mats. This class targets each muscle group. It is a great way to promote your overall physical health. Go at your own pace.

YOGA FLOW -Bend and breathe with Ann in this all-levels 60 min class, meeting you where you are and offering levels along the way to grow. Each class incorporates smart sequencing and functional range conditioning to improve strength and stability while releasing extra tension. Set to curated play lists, often finishing with guided meditation and restoration: learn to find joy and movement in preparation for the mind/body to release and rest!

FLEX & FLOW -These low-impact sessions combine resistance exercises that aim to improve muscle tone, strength, and endurance with stretching and mobility training. High repetition with low weight and static stretching will be used. Popular music is used throughout the class and all movements are taught to better ensure safety. Classes are usually 60 minutes in length and may include the use of equipment such as the STEP, stability ball, weighted bars, dumbbells, yoga mats, and resistance bands.
YOGA CALM - We will start with a relaxing warm up as we begin to tune in and connect the breath with our movements. Then we will do a calm flow where we hold each pose for a few breaths. To finish, we will do a little core work and then a cool-down, followed by a relaxing Savasana (final resting pose). Lavender head rubs will be offered during Savasana to those who would like one. This class is good for flexibility, strength, balance, pain relief, and calming the mind.

DANCE IT UP - This fitness class uses several short, low-impact dance combinations which are taught to the class. One or two movements are introduced at a time and repeated, until the class can easily join in. Popular music is used throughout the workout. Intervals of activities to strengthen the core and to improve flexibility are a part of each session. Classes are usually 60 minutes in length

End of Summer

Summer season has come to an end.  It has been so much fun to see the use of the new Pool and Fitness facility this summer!  Even though we have had some challenges, and the fires and floods put a damper on things, I believe everyone enjoyed their time here.  As we move forward into fall, the pool will stay open possibly a couple more weekends, but it will be dependent on weather. Please watch the daily e-blasts to know the pool hours and any other changes that might occur.

Ann Ellis

Title

Fitness Instructor

Hello! My name is Ann Ellis. I began my yoga practice after years of other wellness and athletic activities. A health provider recommended it to me to help reduce chronic pain from injury and trauma, and after several years of daily practice, I was encouraged to explore the path of becoming an instructor. I bring with me over 28 years of teaching and coaching experience! All ages and levels. I am available individually for movement analysis, assisted stretching, meditation, stretch sessions, Thai Massage, private yoga, functional range conditioning, and Ayurveda. For me, yoga is a blend of fun, discipline, exploration, self-care, and discovery. My goal is for everyone to leave their mat feeling whatever they need for that day plus a little more. Functional Range Conditioning is incorporated into my sessions, with customizations for different levels and abilities. With compassion, grace, and encouragement I strive to empower students. All are welcome in my classes, come as you are!
